Frequently Asked Questions
It's common to have questions about starting therapy. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions-- and our 20 minute complimentary consultation is a great time to talk about your questions and concerns.
Do you take insurance?
My practice is private-pay, and I do not work directly with insurance companies. Working outside the insurance model allows therapy to be guided by your needs rather than diagnostic requirements or session limits, while offering a more individualized and confidential therapeutic experience.
If helpful, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Medicare recipients will not be eligible for reimbursement.

Ninety-minute sessions are $250. I also offer 60-minute sessions at $180. Sliding scale appointments may be available-- please inquire if cost is a barrier.
Is therapy in-person, or online?
I offer both in-person sessions in my private office in Tucson, AZ. and through HIPAA-compliant telehealth for clients who prefer or require remote care, and who reside in PSYPACT-participating states. We can discuss which format best supports you. For many people, telehealth can be just as effective as in-person work. We’ll talk together about what format best supports your needs, preferences, and sense of connection.
What if I'm not sure what
I want or need yet?
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Part of our work can be clarifying what’s happening, what you’re hoping for, and what kind of support feels most aligned for you.
How do I get started?
The first step is to schedule a complimentary 15-20 minute phone or telehealth consultation. This gives us a chance to discuss what you’re looking for, ask questions, and explore whether working together feels like a good fit. From there, we can talk about next steps.

How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Most clients find that 60-90 minutes is the "sweet spot" to do meaningful work, though shorter or longer sessions may be appropriate at times. My intentionally small private practice allows for flexibility in session planning to give you the time you need to integrate. Session frequency is also flexible and collaborative. While some clients choose to meet weekly, others come biweekly, periodically, or for focused periods of work depending on their needs, goals, and life circumstances. We’ll revisit timing and frequency together as your needs evolve.

What is integrative psychotherapy?
An integrative approach brings together complementary therapeutic practices within a cohesive framework. Rather than relying on a single method, I draw from multiple empirically-supported and experiential approaches that work together to support healing across thoughts, emotions, and nervous system regulation. Having an expansive toolkit means that therapy is never a "one-size-fits-all" endeavor.

How do I know if this approach is right for me?
Many clients who resonate with my work are seeking depth, spaciousness, and a whole-person approach to healing. If you’re looking for therapy that honors both insight and lived experience—and values relationship, presence, and integration—this approach may be a good fit. The initial complementary consultation via telehealth is a helpful way to explore this together.
